For the second day in a row, the number of confirmed new cases of coronavirus in Orange County have risen, but there were declines in two of three other three major categories.
According to the county health care agency, new cases for Friday are at 41, up from 31 on Thursday and 19 on Wednesday. Deaths are two, up from one. Hospitalizations are at 49, down from 51. Patients being treated for COVID-19 in intensive care units are at nine, down from 10.
Nationally, new cases – as tracked over a 14-day period – are down 19 percent, according to The New York Times, with deaths down 12 percent. In California, cases are down 10 percent and deaths by 4 percent, according to the Los Angeles Times.
