Woman rescued between walls

WOMAN stuck between two walls is pulled to safety by OCFA firefighters in Santa Ana on Tuesday afternoon (OCFA photo).

Firefighters do more than just fight fires.

For example, personnel from the Orange County Fire Authority successfully extracted a woman who had become wedged between two walls in the 1020 block of N. Harbor Blvd. in Santa Ana Tuesday afternoon.

Working carefully, they cut through what appeared to be a tilt-up concrete wall, taking caution not to injure the woman, and using a fan to ventilate the area. Finally, it was possible to lift the woman to safety through the “window” they had created.

Paramedics assessed her after the extraction.

The OCFA provides fire, medical and rescue services for Santa Ana, as well as Garden Grove, Stanton and Westminster, among other cities.
