Child porn charges vs. HB man

A Huntington Beach man who’s been a referee and coach in youth soccer has been indicted on federal child pornography charges.

According to the FBI’s Los Angeles office, Mark Phillip Oster, 61, was named on Aug. 25 in a four-count indictment. He’s charged with two counts of producing child pornography, one count of distributing child pornography and one count of possessing child pornography.

Oster was involved with the American Youth Soccer Organization from 2015 to 2021.

He’s been in custody since July 30, when FBI agents arrested him as part of a criminal complaint charging him with possession of the “kiddie porn.”

According to the FBI, additional evidence has been uncovered indicating “illegal conduct with minor victims.”

If convicted on all four counts in the indictment, he could face a sentence of 100 years in federal prison. Oster is scheduled to be arraigned in the U.S. District Court in Santa Ana on Sept. 7.
