A GARDEN GROVE man was killed in an accident on the Costa Mesa Freeway (Shutterstock).

The motorcyclist killed in an accident on the Costa Mesa (55) Freeway in Orange on Friday has been identified as a Garden Grove resident.

According to the California Highway Patrol, Ira Bushinsky, 68, died after his motorcycle was struck by an automobile at around 5:40 a.m. on the northbound freeway near Katella Avenue.

He was riding in the left lane when an auto hit his motorcycle, causing him to fall onto the roadway. There, he was hit by a Hyundai Sonata. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Orange County Coroner’s office made the identification on Saturday.
