Two area school boards will be meeting this week, both by teleconference.

The Garden Grove Unified School District Board of Education is scheduled to convene on Tuesday at 7 p.m. Topping the agenda is a presentation of new administrators by assistant superintendents.

A closed session on pending litigation and a conference with labor negotiators will commence at 5:05 p.m. following public comments at 5 p.m.

The GGUSD is a K-12 system serving most of Garden Grove, along with parts of Anaheim, Cypress, Fountain Valley, Santa Ana, Stanton and Westminster.

The Westminster School District Board of Trustees will meet on Thursday, with the call to order at 6 p.m., when public comments will be taken. At 6:30 p.m. a closed session is scheduled to consider – among other things – employment of an executive director for early education and expanded learning, an executive director for teaching and learning, and a director of student services.

At 7 p.m. the public session is scheduled to commence. Among the items on the agenda is adoption of a resolution confirming the exchange of the former Franklin School site for the acquisition of two properties in Los Angeles County for rental income.

The WSD is a K-8 system serving most of Westminster as well as portions of Garden Grove, Huntington Beach and Midway City.

Other local public school district boards – Huntington Beach Union High School District, Huntington Beach City School District and Ocean View School District – are scheduled to meet on Tuesday, Sept. 14.
