LOARA defeated Alhambra 28-19 Friday night to advance to the CIF-SS Division 14 title game next Friday (Shutterstock).

The Loara High Saxons football team, which finished fourth in the Garden Grove League, is now just one victory away from winning a CIF-SS championship.

On Friday night the team defeated the Alhambra High Moors 28-19 in a Division 14 semifinal game that sends the Anaheimers into the title game next Friday against Rialto.

The Knights (6-7) defeated Indian Springs 56-38 in the other Division 14 semifinal.

Loara (9-6), which at one point lost five straight games, has now won seven in a row. The Saxons were led by Isaac Malaga, who ran for one TD and passed for another.
