Increases were reported Thursday in three of four major metrics measuring the state of the coronavirus in Orange County.
According to the county health care agency, rises were recorded in cases – up to 295 from 283 the day before – as well as hospitalizations (from 183 to 196) and the number of patients (57 to 59) being treated for the virus in intensive care units.
Only deaths showed a decrease, with the total declining from 13 to 10.
To date, Orange County has had 316,070 cases of coronavirus, of which 303,753 are considered recovered. Deaths are at 5,806.
Nationally, The New York Times reports that – over a 14-day period – cases are up 27 percent and deaths up 12 percent. In California, new cases have risen 52 percent and deaths declined 1 percent, according to Los Angeles Times.
