Garden Grove High’s boys’ basketball team moved into first place all alone in the Golden West League thanks to Ocean View’s win Friday over Segerstrom, led by Ramon Lopez’ 28 points.

The Seahawks (now 2-1 in league and 11-7 overall) defeated the Jaguars 61-47.  The Argonauts (4-0, 12-7) took over sole possession of the lead with a 64-45 win over Katella.

Grove and Segerstrom (3-1, 7-14) will meet on Tuesday in the Jaguar gym.

In the Garden Grove League, La Quinta’s 64-62 overtime win over Santiago Friday threw the league race into a jumble. The Cavaliers and Bolsa Grande are tied at the top with 4-1 records, with the Aztecs (4-2) a half-game behind.

Santiago and Bolsa will meet again on Thursday, Feb. 3 in a contest that might decide the GGL title.
