Planners, WSD board will meet

GARDEN GROVE‘s planning commission and the Westminster school board have upcoming meetings (Shutterstock).

A study session on state legislation on housing is the main topic at the next meeting of the Garden Grove Planning Commission.

The panel will meet on March 17 in person in the council chambers in the Community Meeting Center, 11300 Stanford Ave. at 7 p.m.

Commission member Daisy Perez Castellanos at the Feb. 17 meeting had requested the study session, remarking that new housing bills were expected from the state legislature that could affect planning decisions and codes in Garden Grove.

Also at February meeting, the commission elected John Ramirez to serve as chair and Josh Lindsay as vice chair.

Westminster school board to meet

A light agenda will greet the Westminster School District Board of Trustees when it meets today at 6 p.m.

Items before the board include:

  • oral presentations on the “Every Student Succeeding “ program and recognition of the Classified Employees of the Year;
  • approval of a new job description for chief technology officer as well as approving the staffing structure for the WSD’s technology reorganization plan;
  • elimination of the positions of director of informational technology and one warehouse manager effective at the end of the 2021-2022 school year.

The WSD is a K-8 district serving most of Westminster and portions of adjacent cities.
