GARDEN GROVE’S existing councilmember districts are officially renewed (City of Garden Grove).

Basketball and boundaries topped the agenda for Tuesday’s meeting of the Garden Grove City Council.

In the Community Spotlight segment, the council honored the coaches and players of the Garden Grove High School boys’ basketball team, which won the CIF-SS Division 4AA championship.

It was the first CIF-SS basketball title won by the Argonauts in the 100-year history of the school.

Also on Tuesday night, the council on a 7-0 vote approved the second reading of and adoption of an ordinance for city council district maps and boundaries, which calls for renewal of the current map. After every federal census, elected governing bodies must determine whether changes in population required a realignment of districts and their borders.

The next council meeting will be held on Tuesday, April 12.
