Recognitions on board agenda

Recognition of “Employees of the Month” and high school valedictorians top the agenda for Tuesday’s meeting of the Garden Grove Unified School District Board of Education.

For April, Shaquinta Clarke, lead food service worker at Hill Elementary School is Classified Employee of the Month and Vi-Thuyen Dao, a teacher at La Quinta High School, is Certificated Employee of the Month.

Additionally, a public hearing is scheduled for the initial contract proposal for the supervisory unit and presentations are set for initial proposals for the Garden Grove Education Association (teachers and other faculty) and Garden Grove Pupil Personnel Services Association (counselors and others).

Also on the agenda is consideration of ratification of a tentative agreement between the district and the bargaining unit of the California School Employees Association.

The meeting will be held at 10331 Stanford Ave., Garden Grove with a study session at 5 p.m. and regular session at 7 p.m.

GGUSD is a K-12 district serving most of Garden Grove and portions of Anaheim, Cypress, Fountain Valley, Santa Ana, Stanton and Westminster.
