A 40-year-old man walking across Warner Avenue in Huntington Beach was fatally injured Friday evening when struck by an automobile.
According to the HBPD, officers were dispatched at about 7 p.m. to Warner, east of Springdale Street.
Arriving officers found the pedestrian in the roadway. He was pronounced dead at the scene, having been struck by a 2015 grey Acura.
The motorist remained at the scene and cooperated with officers. The driver did not appear to be impaired.
A preliminary investigation indicates that the Acura was traveling eastbound on Warner and struck the pedestrian, who was crossing the street outside of the crosswalk.
