THE CIF-SS girls’ volleyball playoffs staart this week with 10 local teams (Shutterstock).

Ten area girls’ volleyball teams will be in action as CIF-SS playoff action starts this week.

Wild card games will begin on Tuesday, with first round games starting on Thursday, except for Division 1 contests, which is a round-robin starting on Wednesday.

Edison is the one team that’s seeded; the Chargers (13-7) are fourth in Division 3. Huntington Beach is the one team in the Division 1 round-robin.

In that D-1 mini-tourney, the Oilers are in Pool  B and start on Wednesday hosting Marymount.

In other divisions (all game set for 6 p.m.)

Division 3: Edison hosts Notre Dame (12-12)

Division 5: Marina (14-3) at Canyon/Anaheim (17-8)

Division 6: Bolsa Grande (12-11) hosts Rowland (19-9)

Division 7: Westminster (20-10) hosts Santa Fe (19-12); Ocean View (14-12) visits Gabrielino (19-8). Also, La Quinta (11-9) is in a wild card Tuesday hosting Carter High (11-12). If the Aztecs win, they’ll face Coachella Valley (20-1) on Thursday.

Division 8: Loara (18-4) hosts Western (9-7).

Division 9: Orangewood Academy (14-10) visits Palm Valley (7-4).
