Police identified the slain as  Devin Chandler, Lavel Davis Jr. and D’Sean Perry.

The shooting took place around 10:15 p.m. just as a charter bus of students was returning from a field trip. No motivation has been established for the killings.

Demos wins Ariz; GOP winning House

UPDATE: Kathy Hobbs, a Democrat,  has been elected governor of Arizona, according to the Associated Press. She defeated the Republican nominee, Kari Lake, who said that if she lost, it would be only through fraud.

Lake, a former TV anchor, has supported former president Donald Trump’s claim that the 2020 presidential election was fraudulent, and that he was the real winner.

• Republicans are now within one seat of establishing a majority in the U.S. House of Representatives. The AP’s tally has the GOP with 217 votes, Democrats with 205.

Republicans are inching toward control of the House of Representatives, and need to win just six more seats to claim a majority.

At present – as some close races are being resolved – Republicans have 212 of 218 needed, while Democrats have 204. Most observers see a red majority in the House, but by a smaller edge than recently expected.

Democrats have control of the Senate after victory in Nevada gave them 50 seats.
