A special meeting of the Westminster City Council has been scheduled for Friday at noon with public access via teleconference or web conference only.

The meeting will be held without Tri Ta, who left his post as mayor to become the state Assemblymember representing the 70th District.

The light agenda includes formally declaring the results of the Nov. 8 general election and a proposal to consider  moving the date of Westminster’s 2023 Tet Parade to Saturday, Jan. 28.

At the next regular meeting on Dec. 14, the new mayor – Chi Charlie Nguyen – and two new council members – Amy Phan West (District 1) and Namquan Nguyen (District 4) will be sworn in.
