Should a mailman be required to deliver mail on Sunday, when his religious faith prohibits work on that day?
The U.S. Supreme Court has agreed to take up the case of Gerald Groff, a Pennsylvania postal carrier with the United States Postal Service who is resisting working on what he considers the Lord’s Day, a day of rest.
According to the Associated Press, the high court will take up the matter on Tuesday. Lower courts have agreed with the USPS that his demand creates a heavier work load for others.
His position is the requirement to deliver packages on Sunday violates the Civil Rights Act of 1964, which prohibits discrimination based on religion.
Jury won’t charge police in shooting

The New York Times is reporting that Walker’s car didn’t yield to police seeking to make a traffic stop in July 2022. A chase ensued, first in cars and then on foot.
Believing that Walker had shot at him, officers opened fire. While no weapon was found on Walker – who was shot 46 times – a pistol was found in his car.
