Ukrainian forces are battling to break through Russian lines in a long-awaited campaign to reclaim land seized by the invaders.

According to The New York Times, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said, “Counteroffensive and defensive actions are being taken in Ukraine. At what stage, I will not disclose in detail.”

The Times referred to “military analysts” who stated that it appeared that Ukrainian forces are seeking to break through Russian lines at two points, one in the south and another in the east.

There are reports of Ukrainian troops advancing about one mile in the battle-damaged city of Bakhmut. Russian sources say all Ukrainian attacks have been repelled.
