Stanton is developing a reputation for helping previously underused property along Beach Boulevard bloom with new construction.
Maybe all that mid-rise development can be accompanied with the blooming of a leafy greenscape as well.
At Tuesday’s meeting to the city council Councilmember Carol Warren raised the idea of looking into the prospects for “greening up” city streets and walkways with a natural landscape.
The council reached a consensus that this was a worthwhile endeavor and directed city staff to proceed with research and creation of a report for presentation to the city council.
Also on Tuesday, the council directed staff to research and create a report on the possibility of installing security cameras inside the council chambers with the prospect of incorporating them into a means of broadcasting meetings of the council, as requested by Councilmember Donald Torres.
The next meeting of the council is scheduled for Tuesday, July 11.
