The coming of summer is traditionally the time for road trips and resulting increase in demand drives up the price of gasoline.
Not always and not in our West Orange County.
A quick survey of the price of a gallon of regular gasoline shows the cost falling at the pump, and a sharp decrease from a year ago.
According to orangecountygasprices.com, the average cost of a gallon has declined from $6.202 in July 2022 to $4.817 this week. It’s also down – slightly – from $4.854 a month ago.
The lowest price found in the county as of Wednesday was $4.17 per gallon at Berri Brothers location in La Habra and Tustin, and a Costco in Tustin.
Most expensive? There’s a Chevron in Aliso Viejo with a price of $5.34 a gallon. The five stations with the highest prices are all located South Orange County.
In our West Orange County, the best prices are at a Costco in the Bella Terra center at Edinger Avenue and Center Avenue and a ARCO station at Warner Avenue and Springdale, also in Huntington Beach and both at $4.29.
The other area cities have low prices of $4.37 at Garden Grove’s Costco (Garden Grove Boulevard and Main Street) and $4.39 at an ARCO in Garden Grove (Century Boulevard and Euclid Street), as well as a Mohsen’s at Westminster Boulevard and Springdale in Westminster.
Stanton’s best price is $4.59 at an ARCO at Orangewood Avenue and Beach, as well as at a G&M at Katella Avenue and Dale Street.
