New administrators will be introduced at Tuesday’s meeting of the Garden Grove Unified School District Board of Education by assistant superintendents.
It’s the first meeting of the school board for the new school year, which will begin on Monday.
The board will convene at 5:15 p.m. in the annex board room for public comments prior to the closed session, followed by a closed session in a separate room at 5:20 p.m. to discuss possible employee discipline dismissal/release.
Under agenda item 7D, it’s listed that such an issue will go before the board with Superintendent Gabriela Mafi, Assistant Superintendent for Personnel Services Jason Bevacqua and Sharon Osmond, senior legal counsel from the law firm of Atkinson, Anderson, Loya, Ruud and Romo, also known as AALRR.
The identity of the employee under consideration is not public. At the July 18 meeting, a crowd filled the board room to protest against any disciplinary action toward a certain high school teacher.
The meeting will be in the GGUSD Annex next to the main office building – closed for renovation – at 10331 Stanford Ave. The GGUSD is a K-12 system serving most of Garden Grove as well as parts of Anaheim, Cypress, Fountain Valley, Santa Ana, Stanton and Westminster.
