A PEDESTRIAN was fatally injured in Santa Ana on Sunday evening (Shutterstock).

An investigation into a fatal hit-and-run accident that took the life of a pedestrian in Santa Ana Sunday night is underway.

According to the SAPD, they received multiple calls regarding a man down in the traffic lanes in the area of Warner Avenue and Brookhollow Drive at around 10 p.m. SAPD officers and Orange County Fire Authority personnel responded to the location and found a man in the road who was soon pronounced dead at the scene.

Police believe that the pedestrian was crossing Warner Avenue east of the intersection of Brookhollow Drive when he was struck by a vehicle traveling east on Warner Avenue. That vehicle let the scene and has not been located.
