G. Grove, Hunt. Beach rated among ‘happiest cities’ in U.S.

HUNTINGTON BEACH and Garden Grove are among the happiest cities in the U.S, according to a new study (Pexels/Jill Wellington).

Garden Grove and Huntington Beach have been honored as among the “Happiest Cities in America” by the financial website WalletHub. (WalletHub.com).

The rankings put Huntington Beach in 12th and Garden Grove in 14th. The other Orange County city making the  the top 25 are Irvine (fifth) and Anaheim (25th).

Seven of the top 15 cities were in California, with Fremont in first, San Jose in third, San Francisco in seventh and San Diego in 15th.

Cities were evaluated based on emotional and physical well-being, income and employment, and community and environment.

The lowest-ranked city is Detroit in 182nd place. The lowest California city is San Bernardino (127th). The survey only considered “the largest cities” in the U.S.

A survey of the “Happiest States” by WalletHub.com lists California in seventh place. Ahead of the Golden State are Utah, Hawaii, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey and Connecticut.

In last place is West Virginia.
