Another step toward creating a “downtown” for Stanton goes before the city council when it meets on Tuesday.
The specific plan for “Town Center” in the northeast of the city was introduced at the the March 26 meeting. The affected area is about 157 acres and is served by Katella Avenue and Beach Boulevard.
In general the boundaries of the Town Center run slightly west of Beach Boulevard, west of Dale Street, south of Cerritos Avenue and north of Katella Avenue.
Under the plan, there will be rezoning to permit mixed-use development including business parks commercial uses, high-density residential and single-family neighborhoods.
The council will meet at 6:30 p.m. in the Civic Center at 7800 Katella Ave.
