The establishment of a Regional Canine Training Facility will go before the Garden Grove City Council when it meets on Tuesday.
What’s proposed is approval of an agreement with the Garden Grove Unified School District for the establishment of a first-ever training operation in Orange County for both “apprehension” K-9s and “support” dogs at Pioneer Park on Chapman Avenue, east of Harbor Boulevard in Garden Grove.
The GGUSD leases part of the Earl Warren Elementary School campus for the park; the canine facility would be at that site. The GGUSD board on Tuesday approved the agreement for a pilot program of about two years. If considered successful, temporary facilities would be replaced with permanent structures.
Also on the agenda is an update on code enforcement activities presented by the city’s community development department.
Additionally, an update on parks and facilities capital improvements will be made to the council.
The council will meet in the Community Meeting Center, 11300 Stanford Ave. at 6:30 p.m.
