We’re back with our e-paper after a week of semi-relaxation.
Here are two items that caught our attention.
Did you know that – contrary to popular belief – Disneyland is actually located in Garden Grove and not Anaheim?
According to Microsoft Bing/Travel, “Garden Grove, California, is most famous for housing the most magical place on earth, Disneyland. Guests will love the park as it is known for featuring popular Disney cartoon characters. The park also features exciting rides and attractions that kids and kids at heart will enjoy. Lastly, it is also a perfect place to take quirky pictures, so head to the park when you visit the city.”
Now, that is good news! All we have to do now is get all the tax revenue that’s incorrectly gone to Anaheim since the mid-50s and into our city coffers. Let the good times roll!
In Westminster last week, the city council voted to censure Councilmember Amy Phan West for a wide variety of violations of the city council code of conduct that amount to being a big pain in the aspect.
Two especially interesting developments about this emerged. First, West tried to fight back and refute the accusations against her, but then, she just gave in and admitted to her misconduct. hoping to be forgiven and promising to be better.
But Mayor Chi Charlie Nguyen wasn’t having it. “I don’t know that I can trust you,” he said, casting the deciding vote in favor of censure.
However, there is a light at the end of the tunnel for her. Action on the formal resolution of censure won’t come to the council for final action until Sept. 11, giving West a chance to “act right” as the homies say in the movies.
So the question becomes, will she be able to amend her ways for the next three months, and – if so -– what happens if she makes it past Sept. 11 and then resumes the same conduct? Is there a “double jeopardy” clause in Robert’s Rules of Order?
Stay tuned for another episode of the high drama at 8200 Westminster Blvd.
