Russia and Ukraine continue to exchange aerial attacks as the war between those two nations continues.
On Thursday, Russia resumed its assault on the Ukrainian power grid, sending nine missiles and and 27 drones on the attack.
Ukrainian military sources say all the drones and five of the missiles were intercepted. Those that did get through damaged power facilities causing “extensive damage” and injuring seven people.
The Ukrainian attacks on Russia are reported to have caused fires at two Russian oil depots and a refinery.
Donald Sutherland dead at 88
The versatile film actor Donald Sutherland had died at the age of 88. He’s best known for Seventies films like “M.A.S.H” and “Klute” but gained a new generation of admirers for his performance in “The Hunger Games.”
He also appeared in cult favorites “Don’t Look Now” and “Invasion of the Body Snatchers.”
Sports: Freeway Series to resume
The Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Colorado Rockies 5-3 in Denver on Thursday. Gavin Stone (8-2) gave them a solid start, going 5.1 innings and giving up four hits and two runs. The Dodgers got home runs from Shohei Ohtani (his 21st of the season), Will Smith (11th) and Freddie Freeman (11th) as the Dodgers improved to 47-30.
The Angels lost 2-0 to the Milwaukee Brewers on Wednesday.
The Angels and the Dodgers will be back in action on Friday when they begin play in a two-game Freeway Series.
Both games will be at Dodger Stadium, starting at 7:10 p.m. After that, the Angels will have a day off on Sunday and then come home to Anaheim on Monday. The Blue Crew will also have travel to Chicago to play the White Sox.

Our West Orange County will be toasty this weekend, with the daytime high reaching 90 by Sunday before receding to Monday. Friday will have a daytime high of 83 and an overnight low of 63 under partly cloudy skies. Saturday will rise to 86 (66). Sunday will peak at 90 (68) with lots of sun. Monday will cool to 85 (67) with mostly sunny skies.
