Pedestrian dies in hit-and-run

A PEDESTRIAN was fatally injured in Westminster on Monday night (Shutterstock).

A hit-and-run accident took the life of a pedestrian Monday night in Westminster.

According to Sgt. Alan Aoki of the WPD, officers were dispatched to the area of Westminster Boulevard and Yockey Street around 10:18 p.m. in response to a report of a man down in the eastbound lanes of Westminster Boulevard.

Arriving officers and Orange County Fire Authority personnel performed life-saving measures on the man, but he was pronounced dead at the scene. He was identified only as a male Asian, 45 to 50 years old.

The vehicle involved in the incident had left the scene before officers arrived. It was described as a newer-model dark sedan last seen eastbound on Westminster.
