At least four local girls’ basketball teams won their CIF-SS playoff openers on Thursday and graduated to the second round on Saturday.

Huntington Beach got 23 points from Emily Hoang as the Oilers defeated Immaculate Heart of Los Angeles 45-31 in 3AA play. They’ll face El Segundo next. Some matchups were not determined at our deadline.
