The help of a Southern California Edison work detail and the quick arrival of Orange County Fire Authority crews combined to save the lives of the residents of a home on Lambert Circle in Garden Grove on Thursday morning. Firefighters were dispatched at 9:57 a.m. and arrived in just six minutes, but the SCE crew working in the area saw the smoke, drove to the house and pounded on windows and doors to alert the sleeping residents, assisting in their escape. No residents were injured and a cat was rescued. However two dogs in the home died and three SCE workers were taken to the hospital for evaluation due to smoke inhalation, but went home the same day. Assistance was provided by Anaheim Fire and Rescue and SoCal Red Cross.
