Trump: ‘Hang tough’ on tariffs

President Donald Trump on Sunday said he was not going to back down on his planned tariffs on goods imported from other countries despite the reaction from Wall Street.

According to the Associated Press, Trump posted this message on social media: “WE WILL WIN. HANG TOUGH, it won’t be easy.” The higher rates will begin being collected on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, U.S. stock futures continued to fall. The S&P futures fell by 2.5 percent and the Dow Jones Average declined by 2.1 percent and theNasdaq fell by 3.1 percent.

Measles are still spreading

The number of new cases of measles continues to rise and reports of new incidents are coming from across the United States.

The biggest outbreaks are still in the Southwest, but some also in Ohio and New Jersey.

At least 636 cases have been reported nationally, The New York Times is reporting, with most of them in Texas and New Mexico and now spreading into Oklahoma and Kansas.

Most of those who have contracted the illness were unvaccinated, Two children have died; one of them was unvaccinated.

Weather: Slow warming ahead

That slow trend of rising temperatures than began a few days ago is continuing for our West Orange County area. Monday’s forecast is for a daytime high of 72 with an overnight low of 54 under sunny skies. Tuesday will bring clouds with similar temps at 72 (55). Wednesday should heat up a bit to 75 (55) with the sun making a return, then more on Thursday to 77 (57) with partly cloudy skies,
