$650k in fire damage to home

An estimated $650,000 in damage was done to a home in Stanton on Friday afternoon by a fire.

According to the Orange County Fire Authority, multiple calls came in shortly before 2 p.m. about a blaze in the 10300 block of Hickcock Road, northeast of Cerritos and Western avenues.

Firefighters searched and determined no people were inside the one-story structure, but a dog was found an evacuated.

There were no injuries reported and animal control officers took care of the dog.

Damage to the structure is estimated at $500,000 and $150,000 to contents. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
