A large new restaurant serving traditional Korean fare will be coming to Stanton.
On July 2, the Stanton Planning Commission approved on a 5-0 vote a conditional use permit to operate the proposed Seapot Hot Pot and Korean BBQ Restaurant at 10500 Magnolia St. (south of Cerritos Avenue) with on-site sale of beer and wine.
The restaurant will be in an existing 28,560-square foot building, of which 11,800-square feet would be occupied by the Seapot.
Permitted occupancy will be 486, and operating hours would be from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. All alcohol will be served with the purchase of food to complement the restaurant’s menu, according to a staff report.
As a condition of approval, the Sea Pot – which will serve Korean BBQ and “hot pot” (a simmering pot of soup or stock is kept heated at the table, and diners can cook a variety of meats, seafood and vegetables by dipping them into the broth) – must maintain video camera recording and maintenance on file for at least 30 days.
