Car vs. tree kills the driver

AN EARLY morning crash on Sunday in Santa Ana took the life of a Santa Ana man after his car hit a tree. Note: Image is not of the actual accident  (Shutterstock).

A speeding vehicle crashed into a tree in Santa Ana early Sunday morning, killing the driver.

According to the SAPD, the incident was reported around 1:23 a.m. referring to the collision in the area of 1300 South Main Street. Responding officers, along with personnel from the Orange County Fire Authority, found the the driver unresponsive.

He was declared deceased at the scene by OCFA paramedics. Police identified him as Francisco Estrada Rivera, 37, of Santa Ana.

The preliminary investigation indicates that the vehicle was traveling southbound on Main Street from McFadden Avenue “at a high rate of speed” when it struck the tree.
