Council on a mixed-use tour

ARTISTS’ RENDERING of “Cloud House.”

Mixed-use development – combining different uses such as residential, office and commercial in one building or one area – is increasingly popular and is in use in many cities.

To get a close-up view of examples in the region, the Westminster City Council will hold a special meeting Wednesday morning. The council will convene at 9 a.m. in the Community Services Building A/B room, 8200 Westminster Blvd. and then proceed on a vehicle tour of selected sites.

They are:
• Cloud House, 12435 Beach Blvd. in Stanton;
• The Magnolia, 500 W. Broadway, Long Beach;
• Shoreline Gateway, 777 Ocean Blvd, Long Beach;
• Bolsa Row, 15100 Brookhurst St., Westminster.

The next regular meeting of the council will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 27 at 5 p.m. in the Council Chambers, 8200 Westminster Blvd.
