Dodgers rock Denver; Halos fall

THE DODGERS kept their two-game lead in the NL West.

The Los Angeles Dodgers kept their two-game lead in the National League West over the San Diego Padres with an 11-4 win over the Colorado Rockies on Tuesday in Denver.

A 7-0 lead after three innings held up as the Blue Crew improved to 72-54. Shohei Ohtani hit his 44th home run of the season and Alex Call batted 4-for-5, including his fourth homer of 2025.

Will Smith was 3-for-5 and pushed his batting average to .308.

Emmet Sheehan (4-2) got the win, lasting six innings and giving up six hits and four earned runs. He struck out seven batters and walked two.

In Anaheim, the Los Angeles Angels (60-66) got two home runs from Jo Adell (his 27th and 28th) but it wasn’t near enough in a 6-4 loss to the Cincinnati Reds.

Adell had a 3-for-4 night with three hits and two RBIs. Mike Trout doubled, singled and scored a run for the Halos. He’s batting .234 so far this season for the Angels.

Kyle Hendricks lasted six innings, yielding eight hits and four earned runs.  He struck out three batters and walked three.
