The “big game” for high school football teams from our West Orange County cities will be Friday in the biggest venue in Southern California: SoFi Stadium in Inglewood.
Garden Grove and Pacifica – district and city rivals – will meet in an 8:30 p.m. contest in the home of the Rams and Chargers in a non-league clash.
Both teams are 0-1 afterWeek Zero defeats, but both squads showed promise. The Argonauts lost a slugfest 42-36 to another district rival, Los Amigos, but showcased a new star in Quentin Pacelli, who rushed for 380 yards and four touchdowns.
For the Mariners, James Anema passed for two touchdowns in a 35-13 loss to Kennedy.
