Three suspects were arrested Monday in Huntington Beach in what police are calling an “organized grand theft” operation.
According to the HBPD, the incident took place in the 7000 block of Edinger Avenue around 4:30 p.m.
A detailed description of the getaway car allowed police to make a traffic stop and make arrests.
The stolen merchandise was found inside the car and all the suspects – the alleged getaway driver, lookout and the one who entered the store provided false names, say police, but were discovered to have outstanding warrants.
While being processed at the jail, one suspect was found to be in possession of illegal narcotics. Arrested and charged were:
• Freddie Joe McCoy, 38, of Compton, for: bringing a controlled substance into a prison or jail; acting as an agent for an organized retail theft; possession of narcotic paraphernalia; theft with prior convictions and grand theft;
• Frank Covarrububiastruj, 36, of Compton for: acting as an agent for an organized retail theft, making false identification to a peace officer;
• Felicia Dionne Gordon, 38, of Gardena, for acting as an agent foran organized retail theft, theft with minor convictions (shoplifting), possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of personal identifying info with intent to defraud, and petty theft.
