National political issues continue to surface on the agenda of the Huntington Beach City Council.
Mayor Pat Burns has submitted a resolution urging “immediate action to ensure a legally valid and transparent 2026 general election.”

The issue statement salutes “election integrity” in California but says “the state must guard against measures that unintentionally weaken oversight or create opportunities for errors, as even minor lapses can erode trust in outcomes.”

To support the necessity for vigilance, he quoted statistics from an organization called Unite 4 Freedom, which claims widespread errors in the California 2024 general election.

The group’s website includes videoclips from a group called United Sovereign Americans alleging that as many as 10 million fraudulent votes were cast in a recent presidential election.

The council will meet in its chambers at 2000 Main St. on Tuesday at 6 p.m.

  1. Why is HB wasting its time dealing with issues that are within the responsibilities and duties of the state of California?

  2. The partisan right-wing Unite 4 Freedom should not be involved in our city’s administration. Their bogus reports are filled with junk data and our insane MAGA city council is using this information to falsely claim there’s an enormous level of election fraud in OC.
