A Fountain Valley man faces a potential prison sentence of 31 years and eight months in state prison for an incident in which he is accused of shooting a round from a police officers’ sidearm and biting another officer.
According to the Orange County District Attorney’s office, arrested on Dec. 19 was Walter Corea Sanchez, 29, of Fountain Valley.
The fracas began at around 9:54 a.m. at the FVD headquarters and Sanchez allegedly behaved and shouted erratically and was walked out of the facility by officers.
The OCDA claims that the subject returned to the office where three officers approached him and told him to leave.
An altercation ensued in which Sanchez allegedly grabbed a officer’s pistol and fired a round. No one was hurt and in the melee, Sanchez allegedly bit a sergeant.
The suspect faces multiple charges including several felony offenses and three misdemeanors.
