Trash pickup fee increase?

A public hearing and possible adoption of increases in trash pickup fees are on the agenda for Tuesday’s meeting of the Stanton City Council.

The council will consider a 3.5 percent increase for single family residential customers and an 8.3 percent price hike for commercial customers. The proposed increases – according to a staff report – are in response to the “increased cost of complying with certain new organic waste mandates.”

Also on the agenda is the second reading and adoption of amendments to the municipal code providing for the enforcement and monitoring of vacant and foreclosed properties.

The council will meet at 6:30 p.m. in the Stanton City Hall, 7800 Katella Ave.
