Final approval of a proposed ordinance to combat “rogue” businesses that don’t obey local or state laws, or are outright criminal enterprises, goes before the Stanton City Council when it meets on Tuesday.
The council is expected to approve an ordinance simplifying and strengthening the grounds and process for denial, suspension or revocation of a business license. The ordinance was introduced at its previous meeting.
Also on the agenda for Tuesday is acceptance of the demolition of a vacant four-unit apartment complex at 8941 Pacific Avenue which has been the location of fires, criminal activity and illegal camping by homeless people.
The cost of the demolition is $112,000.
The council will meet in Stanton City Hall, 7800 Katella Ave., at 6:30 p.m.
