A MAN was arrested Friday night in Garden Grove for felony hit-and-run in which a woman was killed (Shutterstock).

A 69-year-old woman was fatally injured when struck by a car in an intersection in Garden Grove late Friday night.

According to the GGPD, the incident was reported at around 11:16 p.m. A witness saw a collision between a pedestrian and a white 2014 Cadillac SRX at Harbor Boulevard and Palm Avenue.

The Cadillac didn’t stop at the scene of the accident but was followed by the witness until it was stopped by GGPD officers.

Orange County Fire Authority personnel assumed medical care of the woman, who was taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange with “life-threatening injuries,” She was later pronounced deceased.

The driver of the Cadillac – identified only as a male – was arrested on suspicion of a felony hit-and-run and police believe impairment is a factor in the incident.
