VEHICLE that hit a tree in Seal Beach early Sunday morning (OCFA photo).

One person was critically injured and another person also hurt when their vehicle struck a tree early Sunday morning in Seal Beach.

According to the Orange County Fire Authority, the automobile hit the tree in the area of Seal Beach Boulevard and Pacific Coast Highway around 4 a.m.

The critically injured party was extracted from the wreck by firefighter paramedics. The second occupant was able to get out of the vehicle on his own.

Both were taken to an area trauma center.
