A 53-year-old woman has been hospitalized after she was struck by a car while crossing a street in Garden Grove late Saturday night. According to police, the woman walked across the northbound lanes of Euclid Street, north of Garden Grove Boulevard just before 11 p.m. when she was hit by a 2007 Scion sedan driven by a 21-year-old man. She was not walking in a marked crosswalk.
The woman suffered what were termed “possible life-threatening” injuries and was treated by Garden Grove paramedics, then taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange.
According to police, the driver remained at the scene and cooperated with accident investigators, and it doesn’t appear that alcohol or drugs were involved on the part of the driver.
