An investigation is underway into the shooting death of a man who was shot in Garden Grove late Monday morning. According to Lt. Bob Bogue of the Garden Grove Police Department, the incident occurred just before noon at a commercial strip mall at 13478 Harbor Blvd.
The location is just south of the Garden Grove Freeway at Trask Avenue.
Arriving officers found a man with multiple gunshot wounds to the chest. He was taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange where he died from his wounds. Witnesses said that a gray sports utility vehicle that was connected to the shooting fled the scene. Based on the number of shell casings found at the scene, the weapon appears to be a semiautomatic pistol.
The name of the decedent is being withheld pending notification of the next-of-kin. A suspect has been identified only as a male Hispanic in his thirties. Investigators are seeking the public’s help and are asking if there were any witnesses to the incident, inviting them to call (714) 741-5800.
