Councilman Steve Jones has thrown his hat into the ring for the position of mayor of Garden Grove in the Nov. 8 election. He’s one of three hopefuls who have taken out nomination papers for the top elected official in the city.
The others are Albert Ayala and Don Taylor, as of Thursday morning.
Four hopefuls have taken out nomination papers for city council positions. They are:
- District 2: John O’Neill
- District 3: Clay Bock
- District 5: Stephanie Klopfenstein
- District 6: Rickk Montoya
Candidates must submit a list of the signatures of 20 registered voters who reside in the city by Aug. 12 at 5 p.m.
The list of potential candidates in Huntington Beach has grown to 12. According to the city clerk’s office – as of Thursday morning – the council candidate list includes:
- Alexander Polsky
- Jim Katapodis (incumbent)
- Amory Hanson
- Karen Leighton
- Lyn Semeta
- Patrick Brendan
- Joe Carchio
- Jill Hardy (incumbent)
- David Sullivan
- Aleksander Donovan.
For city treasurer and city clerk, incumbents Alisa Kutchen and Robin Estanislau are so far the sole candidates.
