SCHOOL BOARD nominations are starting off slow so far.

There’s not much of a rush for candidates for local school boards. As of Wednesday morning, only eight hopefuls had begun the nomination process for the Nov. 8 elections.

According to the Orange County Registar of Voters, here are the people who have indicated an interest in running:

Garden Grove Unified School District

District 1: Teri Rocco (incumbent)

District 3: Walter Muneton

Huntington Beach City School District (two seats)

• Ann Sullivan (incumbent)

Huntington Beach Union High School District (two seats)

• Susan Henry
• Michael Simmons (incumbent)
• Trung Ta

Westminster School District (two seats)

• Jamison Power (incumbent)
• Karl Truong

Orange Unified School District

Trustee Area 3: Alexia Deligianni-Brydges.

There were no listings of candidates for the Ocean View School District. The OUSD serves Garden Grove east of Haster Street.

In addition to the election of school board members, voters will weigh in on bond issue propositions for the Ocean View and Westminster districts.
