Pat Halberstadt honored for service

Pat Halberstadt, the longtime leader of the Boys and Girls Club of Garden Grove, was honored recently by having the organization’s administrative headquarters and pre-school named after her. She started working for the Girls Club of Garden LogoforNewsBriefsGrove in 1974 and oversaw its merger with the Boys Club in 1994. She retired as chief professional officer in April 2016 as chief professional officer of the B&GCGG, which is the largest of its kind in Orange County, with 60 locations, 500 employees serving 6,500 youth and teens daily and over 13,000 families annually.

The call has gone out for volunteers to help out at the inaugural Breiting Huntington Beach Air Show set for Oct. 21-12 in Surf City. The flight line will be from Brookhurst Street to the city-owned Huntington Beach Pier. “Wingmen” will receive a T-shirt along with meals on the day(s) of the show. FREE ICE CREAM AT SIGLER PARK

The “Helpful Honda Guys” will be at Sigler Park in Westminster on Thursday to hand out free ice cream on a first-come first-served basis starting about 4:30 p.m. The park is located at 7200 Plaza St., south of Westminster Boulevard.
