MOVIES
In release starting Friday.
- “Suicide Squad.” Bad guys are recruited to fight even worse guys. Starring Will Smith, Margot Robbie, Jared Leto, Ben Affleck. Rated PG-13.
- “Nine Lives.” Kevin Spacey gets turned into a cat after a freak accident. Also starring Christopher Walken and Jennifer Garner. Rated PG.
ON STAGE
Just one live play at local venues this weekend.
- “M*A*S*H” continues at the Huntington Beach Playhouse (Goldenwest Street and Talbert Avenue in the Central Library) with shows on Friday at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday at 2 and 8 p.m.
LIVE MUSIC
Three free concerts this week.
- The Suffragettes will perform Top 40 hits at Eastgate Park in West Garden Grove on Thursday at 6:30 p.m.
- The Silverados will perform country and western music on Thursday in the sunken gardens at the Westminster Civic Center (Westminster Boulevard just east of Beach Boulevard) at 6 p.m.
- Jamie Wood and Daddy-O will perform blues, jazz, swing and boogie-woogie music on Sunday at 5 p.m. at Huntington Central Park (Goldenwest and Talbert).
