The city budget for 2016-17 will be once again on the agenda for Wednesday’s meeting of the Westminster City Council. The panel meets at 7 p.m. at the Council Chambers in the Civic Center on Westminster Boulevard just east of Beach Boulevard.
A decision on the budget has been twice-delayed as council members sought more information on the spending document and possible cuts. Westminster is in a financial crisis and is using reserve funds to balance the budget, reserves which could soon run out.
Voters in the city will be asked to approve a 1 cent sales tax on the Nov. 8 ballot to plug the hole in municipal finances.
